STUDENT ARTIST WORKS

              ART AS PASSION

When working with  young artists my focus
is upon offering them the time and space to open their 'artist eyes'. I challenge them  to discover the world of form and design through direct contact with nature. I  also acquaint them with artists as ancient as Giotto or as contemporary as the works currently hanging on the Museum's gallery walls.

Together we become a spirited band of explorers, discoverers, and detectives . We practice remaining wide open to the world. We do this through the act of being curious and hands-on in bringing an individual idea into form.

As a working artist I don't so much 'teach art' but rather offer the opportunity for each of my artists to become enthused by their own way of making marks on paper. We experiment and use whatever tools and materials we can find. We often utilize items that end up in our landfills. Things that are completely safe and free but which our culture tends to discard.
