If you are new here, welcome! Happy Newest Creative Year!
If you are an Old Friend you may be mindful that on December 21 the North Gate opened to the twelve weeks of winter. The ninety days that make up this natural quarter of the year provide the time to mine the gold deep within YOUR roots. Twelve weeks for reconnecting to yourself, twelve weeks to rest in stillness (even if only for 15 minutes a day), twelve weeks for recreating a deep connection to your fondest dream, twelve weeks for regenerating a relationship with the True Nature of you, twelve weeks for recommitting to something bigger than yourself, twelve weeks to take responsibility to relate to something greater than yourself.
Stepping through the portal into the new year it makes sense to review where you’ve come from since last year at this time. (here’s a link to last January with some perennial tools to apply)
Keep in mind that from the winter solstice in December until the spring equinox in late March there is ample opportunity to consider the foundation that you’ve built with your unique creative energy.
My Short Story
I thought it would be interesting to make a list of the major ways in which my creative energy flowed during 2021. The exercise was quite revealing, mainly because I seem to forget and let go as I move forward. The exercise made me thankful that I keep a paper weekly/monthly planner on my desk. This calendar allows me to turn a page, see what happened last week, turn a page toward what is being visualized three months from now. It was helpful to sit down and flip through the 52 weeks of 2021 and to make a note of those accomplishments that could have easily been forgotten in the rush forward. The word rush is important here. We tend to move quickly from here to there. I intend to remind myself and you that life is not in a hurry. It’s worth repeating:
LIFE IS NOT IN A HURRY
I have learned this valuable lesson often and beautifully. Primarily, beginning in 1989, by tracking my projects and interests in rhythm with the cycles of the seasons and the phases of the moon. It is beneficial to keep in mind that nature has a pace that is akin to a crawl rather than a sprint. My experience as an artist has taught me this lesson as well as time and time again during my eleven years tending our 50-acre tree farm retreat land.
Recommended favorite book World Enough & Time, Christian McEwen
Christian stitches together a profound worldview which makes me think of how much I love Japanese mending and the way that it and many artforms support slow time…here’s a small sample that I found online:
And along the lines of stitching Christian also quotes a William Stafford poem:
There is a thread you follow.
It goes among things that change.
But it doesn’t change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.
In 2022 the Global Creative Energy is primarily addressing relationships and your personal ability and responsibility to align with your inherent dual nature, scroll back up and take in the tree image in our Yin/Yang symbol. At this time in the natural circadian year, we tend our roots…we sink deep within…even if only for 15-minutes a day.
2022 offers the opportunity to engage the body’s brain by dropping down into your Orenda, the womb-cave, the gut.

Go there first! Go there to invest in stillness, receive insight, download information, and become enthused by the hunches that will create a pace true for you. No rush. No worry.
There is gold inside of you. I invite you to do what you can to discover the strides that you took that brought you to the threshold of 2022. Remember that you can email: drozda at donnaionadrozda dot com any time. Send your birth month and day (example format: 2/15). I will reply with your Creative Energy Report a three-page PDF to download, giving you a tool for your creative focus in 2022.
She was someone who could not be rushed.
That seems like a small thing.
But it is actually a very amazing quality, a very ancient one
…She went about her business as if she could live forever,
and forever was very very long.

Happy Newest Year! I’m so glad that we are here.
I brought a WeMoon book calendar for 2022 & will start jotting down Life & Thoughts each day. Then review in a year. At almost 73 I’m examining where I should go next. I would love my remaining years to be exciting & fruitful. Touching others as I travel along.
Thank you Donna! I’m glad our paths crossed!
Hi Linda ~ WeMoon is a very beautiful publication. I so enjoy learning about all the creative ways in which Feminine Energy is rising so naturally as we move further into the new millennium. Making notes and keeping track so that you can review at the close of your year is brilliant. Our brains tend to default to what isn’t working the way that we wish things would and so writing down what does work and where we do find joy helps to establish new synapses thus creating new pathways for a new uplifting experience. I, too, turn 73 in just a few weeks. I love asking of my inner teachers and guides, ‘What next? What now? What matters? and my favorite inquiry, ‘What would love do now?’ Happy Trails!!
Thank you! Happy Birthday! I’ll be 73 on January 30. Looking forward to a great inspiring year!
❤️
Thank you Donna. It’s a deeply dark morning at nearly 11 a.m. here in Kaimuki. Winter weather is obscuring the sun. But I am cozy sipping cappuccino at the local coffee shop and warming my spirit with the bright coals of your words. Happy wintering. Enjoy the snow if you are in it today.
Happy New Year, Donna!! ~ ohhhh, I like to picture you sitting there sipping, knowing that in your location the sun will soon pop out from behind the clouds. Funny. Since October 20 the menu bar on my laptop tends to offer me, as it does right now, 39 degrees ****Mostly Sunny****. Sunny. Sunny. That along with the photo that you sent, which sits here on my desk, keeps me in mind of Sunny quite constantly…now she is a most beautiful Muse.
The snow missed us but caused an abundance of mischief where it did land. Happy wintering to you too 😉
Thank you for your wisdom and dear seated desire to be of service Donna. You’re a beautiful soul.
Hi Lynn ~ Happy Trails!
I’m so glad that you are here … 2022 offers a grand opportunity to turn our attention toward inner balance … I look forward to the adventure ahead.
