June 21 marks the day of longest light and the South Gate opening to the Summer Quarter of the Natural/Circadian/Feminine Year.
These next 90 days support full out creative engagement…imagine what you can express in the 12 weeks ahead!
..it’s been a very active spring here at Wren House…this being my first post since April makes that clear. During these weeks I lean into the proactive creative vibe with gusto…
I led 5 studios making up my spring semester at Virginia MOCA, presented my Spring Wren House Studio School course; Emerge n See, as well as prepared for my solo exhibition of paintings for the Norfolk Botanical Garden which will be in place through July and August. I gave a day long workshop on Visual Journal making for a fantastic group of our veterans and I gave a talk on Compassion in Action at the Unity in Williamsburg. A great spring.
What a delight it is to be in the Virginia MOCA studio 3 days a week with all ages of artists exploring the natural ways in which our creativity comes to meet us. Each studio explores and utilizes materials as diverse as fabric, pastel, plaster, paint, simple pencil to paper and more.

Cross the threshold of the South Gate on June 21 entering into the Summer Quarter of the year brings us the time for maximum growth and maximum growth requires action!
The focused action of the 90 days of summer is a natural time for trusting your process and gaining insight into what you can love more deeply as well as what it is you are individually inspired to grow.
There’s wisdom in this approach.

The summer segment of the Natural Year is the most out-going time in nature…we call it yang. Yang energy is moving quickly, it has a trajectory.
Summer needs to see evidence of progress. Plants grow. Baby birds are fledged. Sea turtle babies make their way to the depths of the ocean. Gardens blossom! Crops grow to be harvested.
