Eight months ago today I stopped in at the Virginia Beach SPCA and walked among the kennels. A large batch of dogs had been brought in the day before from a kill facility in Northern Virginia. I wasn’t able to spend any time with the pup that I signed up to consider because she was in a quarantine section and had yet to be seen by the veterinarian. I had to be satisfied with watching her sit at attention. I would return the next day to actually visit with her. I learned that her people had moved away leaving her abandoned in the empty house. The vet thought her to be less than a year old.
She came complete. She’s a delightful sprite.
Now we’ve been together since December 10, 2012 and I’m happy every day that I made the decision to bring her home. She is sweet, charming, calm and quiet UNLESS she is being bouncy, blissed, chasing squirrels or running full speed ahead after anything else that moves. In other words she’s a healthy pup full of life. We take bike rides together a couple of times a day and she has 50 Virginia acres to explore with her sister June Bug.
To celebrate our day I created a little Bodhi portrait…
She makes my heart sing.
